Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: June 3, 2025
Family-Tracking is committed to ensuring that its digital services, including the website at family-tracking.com and associated mobile applications, are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and functionality, and we work continuously to improve the accessibility of our platforms.
Our Commitment
We strive to conform to recognized international accessibility standards and guidelines. Our goal is to provide an experience that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users, regardless of the assistive technologies or devices they use.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort and not a one-time achievement. We regularly review our services, conduct audits, and implement improvements as part of our standard development process.
Standards and Guidelines
We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represent the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility.
The four core principles we follow are:
- Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive, including through assistive technologies such as screen readers.
- Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable via keyboard, voice input, and other alternative input methods.
- Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable, with consistent navigation and clear error identification.
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including current and future assistive technologies.
Current Accessibility Features
Visual Design
- Sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background elements to support users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- No content relies solely on color to convey meaning.
- Decorative images are marked appropriately so they are ignored by assistive technologies.
Navigation and Structure
- All pages use semantic HTML elements to provide meaningful structure.
- Headings are used in a logical, hierarchical order.
- Skip navigation links are provided to allow users to bypass repetitive content.
- All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.
Content and Media
- All non-text content includes descriptive alternative text where appropriate.
- Form fields are associated with descriptive labels.
- Error messages are clearly identified and describe the nature of the issue.
- No content flashes more than three times per second to reduce risk for users with photosensitive conditions.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
- Our services are designed to be compatible with commonly used screen readers and magnification software.
- ARIA landmarks and roles are applied where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
- Dynamic content updates are announced to assistive technologies where applicable.
Known Limitations
While we work diligently to maintain a high standard of accessibility, some areas of our platform may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations may include:
- Certain third-party embedded components or tools that are outside our direct control may not meet all accessibility requirements.
- Some legacy content created before our current accessibility standards were adopted may not yet be fully remediated.
- Complex interactive features in the mobile application may have partial support with some assistive technologies pending updates.
We are actively working to address these limitations as part of our ongoing development roadmap.
Mobile Application Accessibility
Our mobile application is developed with accessibility in mind across both major mobile platforms. We support native accessibility features including screen readers, display size adjustments, and high-contrast modes provided by the operating system. We test our application updates for accessibility impact prior to release and welcome feedback from users regarding any issues encountered.
Third-Party Content
Our website and application may include content or functionality provided by third-party services. While we make reasonable efforts to work with accessible third-party providers, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of content or interfaces that are fully controlled by external parties. We encourage users who experience accessibility barriers related to third-party content to contact us so we can explore available alternatives.
Feedback and Assistance
We welcome feedback from all users regarding the accessibility of our services. If you encounter any barriers, experience difficulty accessing any content or feature, or require content in an alternative format, please contact us. We will make every reasonable effort to respond promptly and to provide the assistance or alternative access you need.
